Aircon Repair Singapore - Same-Day Diagnostics and Fix
Diagnosis and repair for aircons that are not cooling, leaking water, making strange noises, or showing error codes. All brands, same-day service available.

How We Diagnose Every Fault
At iCare Aircon, we do not quote a repair before understanding the problem. Every job starts with a proper diagnosis because guessing leads to unnecessary part replacements and repeat visits.
When our technician arrives, they run a structured inspection. Pressure tests check the refrigerant charge. A multimeter verifies electrical components including the capacitor, thermistor, and fan motor windings. Visual inspection covers the PCB for burn marks, the drainage system for blockages, and the condenser for physical damage.
This diagnostic-first approach means you get an accurate quote for what actually needs fixing. The diagnostic fee is credited towards the repair cost if you proceed. If the repair does not make financial sense for the age of your unit, we tell you that directly rather than letting you spend money on diminishing returns.
The Most Common Aircon Problems
Across our 12,450 completed jobs, certain faults show up repeatedly. Knowing what the most likely cause is helps us carry the right parts on the van and resolve issues faster.
Units that are not cooling
This is the single most common complaint. The causes range from straightforward to complex.
A dirty fan coil is the most frequent reason. If the unit has not had a chemical wash in over two years, the coil fins are likely blocked with biofilm that restricts airflow and heat exchange. This is not a repair issue but a cleaning issue, and we will recommend a chemical wash if that is what the unit needs.
Low refrigerant from a leak is the second most common cause. If cleaning does not resolve the problem, we check system pressure. A sealed system should hold its charge indefinitely, so low pressure means there is a leak that needs locating and repairing before the system is recharged.
A failing capacitor prevents the compressor from starting reliably. The unit powers on and blows air, but the air is not cold because the compressor is not running. Capacitor replacement is a quick fix, typically under 30 minutes.
Thermistor faults cause the unit to misread the room temperature. It may cycle off too early, thinking the room is already cold, or run continuously without reaching the set temperature.
Water leaking from the indoor unit
After “not cold,” water leaks are the most common reason people call us. In Singapore’s humidity, condensation is constant, and any disruption to the drainage path causes overflow.
Clogged condensate drainage is the usual cause. Biofilm, dust, and debris accumulate in the drain line over time. A flush clears it, but if the buildup is severe, we chemically treat the drain to prevent rapid recurrence.
A tilted indoor unit changes the drainage gradient. If the mount shifted or was installed slightly off-level, water pools on one side and drips from the unit. Re-levelling the mount fixes this permanently.
Frozen evaporator coils cause a burst of water when the ice melts. Low refrigerant or restricted airflow from a dirty filter are the typical triggers. We address the root cause, not just the symptom.
Error Code Troubleshooting for All Brands
Modern aircons communicate faults through blinking lights or alphanumeric error codes on the display panel. Each brand uses its own system, and our technicians are trained on the fault trees for Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Midea, Sharp, and York.
When your unit blinks six times or shows “E7,” we know where to start looking rather than working through possibilities blindly. Common examples:
- Daikin E7 - indoor fan motor fault. Motor may need replacement or the PCB connection may be loose.
- Mitsubishi P8 - PCB or outdoor unit communication fault. Often resolved by checking wiring connections, sometimes requiring PCB replacement.
- Panasonic H16 - outdoor unit fan motor issue. Bearings may be worn or the motor itself may need swapping.
- LG CH10 - indoor unit sensor fault. Thermistor replacement is usually the fix.
If you see an error code, WhatsApp us a photo. We can often tell you the likely cause before the visit and bring the right parts along.
When to Repair and When to Replace
Not every fault justifies a repair. Sometimes replacing the unit is the more honest recommendation, and we will tell you when that is the case.
Repair makes sense when the fault is a single component failure on an otherwise healthy system. A blown capacitor on a 4-year-old Daikin, a clogged drain on a 6-year-old Mitsubishi, or a thermistor fault on any unit under 10 years old: these are straightforward fixes that extend the unit’s life for years.
Replacement is worth considering when the unit is over 10 years old and the repair cost exceeds 40% to 50% of a new installation. Other signs that replacement is the better path: the unit still uses R22 refrigerant (increasingly expensive and being phased out), the PCB has failed twice, or the compressor is struggling (high amp draw, frequent tripping).
We will never push a replacement to increase the invoice. If a repair gives you good value for 3 to 5 more years of use, that is what we recommend. If the numbers point the other way, we will show you why.
What to Expect During a Repair Visit
Transparency is central to how iCare Aircon operates. Here is what a typical repair visit looks like from start to finish.
You WhatsApp us the symptoms, ideally with a photo or video. For error codes, send the exact sequence. Our team responds with an estimated diagnosis and books a visit, often same-day for urgent issues like water leaks or total cooling failure.
The technician arrives, runs the diagnostic checks described above, and identifies the root cause. You receive an upfront quote covering parts and labour before any work begins. There are no hidden charges added after the fact. If the repair cost is high relative to the unit’s value, the technician will say so and recommend alternatives.
Once you approve, the repair is completed, cooling is verified with outlet temperature readings, and a written service report is provided. Every repair carries our 90-day workmanship warranty. If the fault we fixed recurs within that period, we return at no charge.
For emergency breakdowns, our response time is under 4 hours. We prioritise households with elderly residents or young children who are most affected by cooling loss in the tropical heat.
We service all areas across Singapore, including Jurong East, Tampines, Woodlands, Punggol, and Toa Payoh. Call or WhatsApp 3138 2108 to book your repair.
